SWD
A salt water disposal well (SWD) operator in West Texas was faced with serious plugging issues that would occur daily. Their current chemical supplier's products were not robust enough to handle the fluids received at the SWD, as plugging would occur as often as every 12 hours. Nomad assisted their current supplier to assess the issues and developed a new product to correct the situation.
PETROCHEMICAL
Nomad was approached at ILTA in Houston by a national waste services company to discuss hydrocarbon and wastewater holding tank cleaning. Their current product was not effectively liberating LELs and BTEX for thermal oxidation, and the H2S was not coming down. Nomad's products were used to liberate the VOCs and neutralize the H2S present in the tank, reducing downtime by 50%.
TANK CLEAN
A tank cleaning and decontamination company was faced with a serious challenge of removing tank bottoms and oil reclamation. Paraffin build-up had caused storage volumes to decrease by as much as 20%. Nomad collaborated with the tank cleaners, developed a method to remove the tank bottoms and prevent redeposition of paraffin, and later assisted in reclaiming almost 100bbl of salable hydrocarbons.
WATER
A water treatment operator in NW Louisiana was faced with recycling and reusing fluids experiencing the overuse of PAM polymers. The polymer overload was gumming up in the tanks and coiled tubing. Nomad accepted the challenge and developed an innovative inorganic polymer breaker that breaks the polymer backbone, improving water quality, asset integrity and flow assurances.
